Wow, you're all saying such thought-provoking things. I wish I had something smart to say right now, but I don't, so I'll just keep flowing. By the way, Brian, what was that rant? Did you make that up? I liked it--and those comments at the end, too, especially about not watching TV. I seem to have some kind of TV dyslexia--can't concentrate unless it's a good movie. Not anything educational. I know that's pathetic. Don't say anything. As for moving around, we've done that a lot, and I agree with you, Karen, that it has its disadvantages, but it also makes you stronger and more flexible. I don't see myself living in Vermont right now, but I'm glad it's still part of my life. Every time I go back, I love it. And, Richard, let us know when you figure it all out. Pretty exciting to feel like you're starting your life now and not in the middle of it.
I agree with the bob seger line, but I think I was feeling more like Kansas kind getting blown around.
that journey sure does go fast. wow, i am just getting started on living my life and i bring an ounce of caution with it all- like i gotta use brain because it ain't about brawn anymore. i know brian is saying use your brain and hire a backhoe, but it is more than that. being really in love could be different and better, but did i ever really get it in the first place. give me fifty years and maybe i will have the answer- "wishing that i didn't know then what i didn't know now" (by the way, that is an almost clever reversal of a bob seger lyric). why do i feel like i am running against the wind?

Back again, Sorry it took so long, got delayed getting back due to thunderstorms messing up the airlines schedules. Went and saw the grand-daughter, everybody's doing fine and caught up on the work that didn't get done. I'll probably just hang around the house for the 4th if work doesn't intrude that is.
I want to thank everyone who participated in the get together, even in spirit Pat. For myself it was a journey of discovery; kinda peeking at the results of my youthful decisions. I treasure the memories and places I have seen and been stationed as a Marine but as always with us stubborn human beings, I wonder what it would have been like to hang around Springfield or at least Vermont. Ah, wishing for the road not traveled, sign of old age or what.
It really was good to see everyone again, I'll try to post on the blog but I have developed a nasty habit of letting my work come first. Lori is right, retraining at this age is a challenge.
If anybody is headed this way give me a holler. Later :)
Naw Lori, I'm not asking anyone to change their habits in their frail and declining years, as if!

[begin rant]
Watch out, because technology and social conventions are always in motion, and we can choose to stand like the tin woodman as the forest grows and changes all around us, listening to the same music over and over, trying desperately to freeze time. But that would be forcing ourselves to believe in an illusion that life is a comfortable place where we sit for a while, unchanging, then leave, surprised that its over.

[/end rant]

Dance!
Find true stability in motion.
Swim with the current.
Never watch TV.
Never complain.

Okay?
Brian, I just tried the Facebook and got in okay, but it's blank now, right? I just saw your name and Kathi and Karen's names, but nothing written there. We're all used to the blog. You want us to change our habits at age 53?! Just kidding (kind of). I'll check in again. That's nice that you and Richard will be together for 4th of July!

Sorry to hear you got back so sick, Karen. By the time I readjust it will be time to leave again--to Israel on July 12.
Yeah, in my case, the fourth of July is always spent blissfully stooped over an intense fire pit, accidentally knocking would-be tasty items into the coals. It's all good fun.

So mosey on over to Facebook, already and try it out. This SHS1972 blog will never go away, but the difference is nobody can say anything here unless they are accepted in and approved as a admin. In Facebook, you just have to sign in as a member (of Facebook) to make a post or reply or a spin-off group, etc. we could block access to others and make it private, but what's the reason for that? We want out wayward lost classmates to find us.

And Lori, whatever was blocking you before is probably cleared by now, Karen Stover and Kathi Stern got in okay.

You can send each other emails without ever seeing or knowing each other's email address, so it's safe from evil clowns.

Look for "Springfield High School 1972 Vermont" and join the discussion, there can be many going on at once, just like in the school cafeteria.

Plus you can widen out and find or start other groups, like "Horse lovers in Windsor County", or Organic weed farmers of "HoJo's Pits."

Saturday, June 30, 2007

yup, i got a special invitation for the fourth. nice guy, family man, has kids, wife, mortgage payment, you know the type, but man can that lizard par-teeee! yeah!!! i'll be at brian's.

Friday, June 29, 2007

Kathi, I think you got the wrong Brian. This one isn't the one who came with Mario.

I'm having a hard time getting back into things. When you're on vacation, it's all about having fun, and then you get back to routine, which has its fun, too, but also all those obligations and responsibilities..... I just want to have fun! But the dishes have to get washed, too.

Patti, I don't have a problem with people reading, but not writing. I wish everyone would write, but I understand it--that's how I feel in big groups sometimes when I just listen, but don't talk.

Thanks for putting those pictures up, Karen! Good pictures! And I'll check out that site, Brian--after I psyche myself up for the technical challenge! Okay, okay, I know you said it's easy....
Brian, I tried Facebook and it said not accepting registrations at this time. So maybe it'll work later. Glad that you had a good time.
To those of you interested in the weather here in Springfield, its a big change from the last few days where it was in the 90s and humid. It is now 58 with a cool breeze. I am sure for those who dislike the hot this is a welcome change. Personally, I like it a tad warmer in the summertime! I am sure Pat will want it a little warmer on vacation, too. Its good mowing and cleaning weather, not swimming!
Have a good day everyone. Happy Thoughts............
Hi Gnag,
Whoo whee. I am still charged up from connecting with some awesome souls this weekend. I think this feelings gonna last a while. Thank you all for coming, and for all the amazing effort you put into this gathering. I really appreciate it.

Aside from that, I wish I could have spent more time with more of you, but it was all good, so I'll just soak in the love.

Okay, I did speak with a few of you about ways to get more people to join in, and maybe, just maybe people aren't joining because it's too difficult.

So try this experiment with me. Scoot your little ol' selves over to facebook.com and join up (it's free, of course). Try to do it without any help from your kids. Explore around, turn cloaking devices on an off, see how it works. Then do a search for "Springfield High School 1972 Vermont". That's the name of a group I started. I wanted it to be full of easy to find keywords.

So far I'm the only one there, but any random class member who joins Facebook might type in some of those words and find it. Since it's wide open to all, my thought was it would be easy to find and join. Go there, and let me know how it seems to you, awright? It could be good.

Love and Peace Out,

-=Brian

We leave tomorrow a.m for camp stopping in Portland to visit with Kevin and Colin. Dave will spend the first week there and then the third. I may stay for the month and then come back the end of July to work Fair Week. 7-27/8-4. I'm applying for a new position at school so I may need to change my plans.

I have everyone set as administrators and so anyone can invite others. All you need is their e mail address. Then they follow the directions in the message they get. It's easy. When you are at the dashboard choose posts. Then click the link above that says Moderate Comments. From there you choose Comment settings and then permissions. There you'll see the people who have ever written and are therefore authors, and below that any outstanding invitations. Give it a whirl!

I'll have my computer with all summer. I have to go to a particular area in the campsite to use it as they have not yet gone all wifi. It's just a hop, skip, and a jump over to the office though.

As far as people reading and not writing, Karen, did these folks say why they don't chime in? Just curious. It seems strange to me that's all.
Posting on here is like talking to friends. Sometimes one listens and sometimes one responds. I am sure not everyone is interested in responding to hearing about the weather in Springfield or that I washed windows and curtains today...
How does one get invited to blog? Can anyone invite others or just you, Pat? I really have no idea how that works. Is there a list of email addresses for classmates floating around? We should have had everyone update it on Saturday night.
Where are you going camping Pat? Too bad you couldn't have brought the camper as far as Springfield and gone from here. Does your whole family go and stay for the month, too? Are you going to bring your laptop??? How will you survive no computer for a month? lol. Well,
enjoy your vacation and rest up!
My kids and grandchildren are coming up next week to visit. I am so excited! I'll keep you fully informed!
Happy Thoughts...
It's been great hearing from folks about their reunion experiences. Good to know that folks are back home safely. I'm working like a fiend trying to get organized. We leave tomorrow a.m for NH. I can't believe I'll be there for the whole month!

Karen, you made an interesting observation about the blog. At our 30th many people signed up to be part of the blog. However, even though they signed on, most did not post, just read. To be frank, I'm not crazy about this. I know Janice doesn't post often but she is a blog author and could, and has. Also she write emails based on the posts she reads. Sorry to be talking about you Janice!

Right now with the new Blog program, only blog authors can post but anyone with the blog address can read. Over the last couple of months several people asked to be invited to the blog. We welcomed Eric and John came back occasionally. There are 4 outstanding invitations right now for people who asked to be invited. I'd be interested in knowing if we care to be open to any and all readers, knowing that they are voyeurs not participants. Nothing personal folks. We can set the site to be open only to the blog authors. These are the people who have responded to an invitation to be part of the Blog. Just wondering.........

the reunion was lots of fun. many different kinds that were all GREAT. it is true that we were in a tent and it is true that brian and i did survive the night. we were quite comfortable and slept until about 8:30. we were invited to breakfast right there at the farm in the morning and the food and conversation were fabulous. after three hours there, we were on our way. only 1820 days until the next one. can't wait!
They slept in a tent?!?!
One more thing--just wondering how Brian and Richard survived the night in their tent on Cherry Hill Rd. Hope you guys didn't freeze to death!
I think there were 60 at the dinner, but not all were classmates. Some were spouses. And, yes, Brian was the mystery date. Patti, I'm assuming someone more technical than me will put up some pictures for you to see, but if not, I'll get someone to help me put up some of mine. It was my first time using a digital, so I definitely haven't advanced to step 2 as far as uploading goes (or is it downloading?). Have a good time in N.H. Where are the rest of you????
Hi everyone! Muggy Tuesday morning here. Lots of rain expected over the next few days. Ick. I dumped a lot of things into the trailer last night before the rain so I wouldn't have to run back and forth getting things wet. almost have everything out there, I guess Dave is ready but his needs are so simple. I might want to change my clothes everyday you know? Anyway, I'll be there the whole month of July and would like to avoid the laundromat as much as possible.

I've enjoyed seeing the notes from Kathi and Lori. I'm glad you had a good time at the reunion. It sounds like things well well. I know there was a lot put into it. Debbie, Mike, Kathi, John, Janice, Karen long distance. Lots of folks worked hard for this. Anyone i haven't mentioned thanks to you too!! Any surprises? How many classmates attended? Was Brian Richard's mystery date?

Well, here I am back in L.A. Just arrived. Yesterday I got back to Burlington at 11:30 a.m. and went swimming in Lake Champlain with my brother and his family. We were lucky with the weather. It was beautiful.

I wanted to thank all of you for being the kind of people you are and making me glad I made the effort to fly all the way from L.A. for this reunion. It took me a little while to get back into things, but then I had so much fun--talking, laughing, dancing, seeing all of you. I love you guys. Thank you for everything. I miss you already. Springfield will always be special to me. Sorry you couldn't make it, Patti. We missed you.
Congratulations to all for pulling off a great 35th Class Reunion. Many thanks to all of you who helped out in every way. We are happy that many came long distances to be with us: CA, GA, PA, NC, MA, NH...and places between to Springfield.
The float idea worked well...thought the judges only gave us 2nd place in humorous....maybe they didn't appreciate the humor! We walked behind our reinactment of the poster with John Candy and Steve Martin in "Planes, Trains & Automobiles"...carrying face masks on sticks of the actors (probably copywrite violations but....). Rick drove the truck...seeming to speed up going up through the Main Street hills...making us chase him! Wonder if we'll be able to catch him in another 5 years!
The Hartness House worked out well (thanks Pat). The tables were decorated with collage vases filled with daisies and candles....party favors, all green and white theme. Looked pretty good, thanks Martha!! The appetizers and buffet consisting of fruit and veggie trays, salad, rolls,
veggie lasagna, beef, chicken, roasted potatoes and green beans with almonds with apple crisp for dessert. John LaPlante provided the music equipment and acted as DJ for the night, keeping background music going. We recrowned the 1972 Alumni Queen to her surprise!! Dedicated a moment of silence for our deceased classmates. We even dug out the class song we sang at graduation..even though we had trouble following the tune. It was fun matching faces with names. We had 60 people attend. We then went to KJ's to join the dancing with the class of 1977. A great time for memories and catching up with the lives of friends.
Again, thank you for all the great work putting the event together and Happy Thoughts.....

Cosmo is short for Cosmopolitan isn't it? I don't think the founding fathers mean the cocktail. But maybe.

From Wikipedia: The word cosmopolitan describes an environment where many cultures from around the world coexist; or a person whose perspective reflects exposure to a variety of cultures. It may also have the weaker senses of "worldly" or "sophisticated.

Does this describe Springfield, VT ? I remember the big Cosmo arm on the gym wall. That was great!

I'm freezing up here in PI. I sure hope the parade back home is enjoying a much warmer day. Hoist one for me tonight folks, I'll be thinking of you all.
i love a parade, the tramping of feet. i love every beat i hear of a drum. i am sure that right about now helium is filling the last of the big balloons that will be hoisted and guided along the parade route. maybe a giant snoopy ballloon in his sopwith camel will be flying along the route this year. or maybe some class will have figured out what a cosmo is and there will be a new giant cosmo balloon. i think a cosmo is green and white, but i otherwise don't know whether a cosmo is very capable and friendly spaceman or maybe we were named after the cosmos daisies. there are some big holes in my understanding of life. oh well, i love a parade, the tramping of feet. i love every beat.

Friday, June 22, 2007

Snow was falling around 1 pm today at the summit of Mt. Washington. I hope we don't see that along the parade route in Springfield in the morning. Brrr! The finishing touches must be going on the float right about now at Barlow's. Have a good night, everyone.
It's a different world up here at the north pole Richard. We're hoping to break out the spring skiing equipment any day now! All this snow sure makes it hard to plant the potatoes.

Thursday, June 21, 2007

pat, it's called a yard sale when you wipe out something awful while skiing and your poles go one place, hat another, and skis go somewhere else. do you really still have snow in presque isle?? wow!!
Well folks are converging on Spfld., and I have reunion envy! Travel safely everyone and have a fabulous time this weekend! Hopefully someone will take photos and post them here for those of hosting yard sales this weekend instead of walking down memory lane behind a float. Enjoy everyone........

Wednesday, June 20, 2007

Float is coming along nicely. We will meet at Barlow's at 6:00 Friday to finish up. Bring a munchy to share. Pizza will get ordered if we choose.
Remember, if you have not paid for your meal for Saturday night, bring it to Deb before the dinner!
Hope to see others there! Happy Thoughts!

Tuesday, June 19, 2007

i will be flying into springfield airport with my co-pilot, brian king, saturday am. brian is pretty sure that the back roads only take an extra 4 minutes from burlington to spfld. as a myth buster lover, i am all over this. our goal is to hit town at 9:49. we would be there at 9:45 but we will be taking some blue (as in sad and lonely) highways. we will be singing along with some old j geils tunes cuz those are the easiest ones to sing along with (those are some where- if you know the title then you know the lyrics- like freezeframe, now freeze!). okay, gotta finish my ground check and get some stuff packed. wahoo! richard
Travel safely everyone!
I am sure we will all have a good time together. For those of you who can't come, we'll have fun for you, too!
Happy Thoughts to all.....
I'm flying tomorrow morning on Jet Blue. Getting excited!
FYI everybody coming to the parade!
The Parade is starting down at the J&L parking lot on Clinton Street. The parade starts at 10:30, so I would think you would want to make sure you have found the 72 float by 9:45 or so....We are meeting again Wednesday night so if there are any changes I can post them here for you.
Hope for beautiful weather and Happy Thoughts.............

Monday, June 18, 2007

Hello everyone. It's time for me to pop in again and see what's going on. Hi Karen V out there where it's not too late yet. Congrats Eric on this first grandchild! And Pat, so sorry that you won't be making it Saturday after you've been such a splendid spokesperson for it all. (Tears flowing.) My brother does some work in the complex where the McHughs live. Charlie will be turning 90 on July 31, and the mailing address is 9 Pine Brook Lane Unit G5, North Springfield, VT 05150. And Mrs. McHugh will turn 90 on November 5. Ron had to take Mrs. McHugh's Focus down to BF last week to get the oil changed. So they're doing well these days. I too remember being shown how to fold up The Times. What a thick paper to look at everyday! I enjoyed spending time in the sports section. Wrong answer. Well, I look forward to seeing some of you in Cosmoland on Saturday. I should be arriving just before parade time. Where does it start, up on the River Road where the First National Store used to be? Now how many years ago was that? Fred Kolstrom was the manager, and I enjoyed bringing shopping carts back to the store from the parking lot while my parents shopped. I'll check in again later. Jerry
Well that's great news Richard! I'm sure they'll squeeze you right in. It's good to know that even as we get this close folks are making plans to get to Spfld. It'll be a fun time I'm sure.

I'm sorry to hear that your mom isn't doing well Roland. I wish your family all the best and much comfort.

Sunday, June 17, 2007

okay. okay. okay. i am going to make it to the reunion. misty guest will as well. is it too late to get a couple of spots at the table?? gotta a million stories i want to hear. please come ready to tell all. i can't wait for five more years. wahoo!!
Hey gang, sorry to say I can't make the reunion I was so looking forward to. Mom is VERY sick and I'm afraid facing hospice soon. I must spend the time there but maybe I can meet up with a couple of you in B town someday or if enough of us were in this area we could gather for dinner or something.

Saturday, June 16, 2007

Thank you for all of the kind thoughts. I'm sorry you can't make it Pat, hope everything is OK. Weather still hot down here without much rain. See everyone next week.

Thursday, June 14, 2007

Life sometimes does get in the way of things...hope its nothing too serious Pat! Sorry you can't come and have the PJ party at HH.
We are all getting together Friday night at Barlows to finish up the last minute things on the float, so everyone can meet there and decide what to do!
Happy Thoughts...
I'm so sorry to hear that, Patti. We'll really miss you. I was looking forward to seeing you again. Is everything okay?
Well, things change. I will not be attending the reunion. Life has gotten in the way and I've had to change my plans. I really hope everyone has a great time though. I'm hoping that later in the summer I'll be able to visit for a mini get together like last summer. Karen S will you be going to Vt any other time this summer?

Tuesday, June 12, 2007

Congratulations ! Someday I too will be a grandma. At least I think so. The boys tell me not to hold my breath. Guess that means I need to wait a while.

I'll let you know Eric what specifically but something will happen Friday to get us together at least for supper. The out-of-towners. Debbie and Janice have both mentioned a possible BYOfood BBQ but if that falls through I'm sure something will be set up. Unfortunately, not knowing Spfld. very well anymore it's hard to even just pick a restaurant and say lets all meet there. We ate at the HH last time. It was fun! Keep checking in.

I'm expecting to see Joanne Gordon here soon. She asked John to have an invitation sent to her. More voices, excellent!

Monday, June 11, 2007

Welcome to Grandparenthood, Eric. I have said that its the best feeling in the world. Your baby weighed the same as mine, length too. Hopefully, you are close so you can see her lots. My husband likes them better when they are big enough to play, where I like to snuggle. Enjoy!!!
I am sure everyone will be finishing up the float on Friday night. There is a meeting on Wed so we can find out more details. Happy Thoughts.........
Congratulations, Eric! The birth of a first grandchild must be a really special feeling.
Madalyn Opal Smith arrived 7 Jun at 22:30. She was 8lbs 11oz, 21 in long and is the cutest baby ever. Ok so I might be a little prejudiced :). As my first granchild she is perfect of course. I get to Manchester sometime on Friday and drive over to Springfield. If we come up with any plans post and provide directions and I will try to get there.

Sunday, June 10, 2007

Rainy Sunday here. Spent yesterday catching up on all the yard work that wasn't done in 3 weeks! Glad I stuck to it. Now I have plants to put in the ground and I'll be caught up.

Congratulations Karen V on your 4.0. Makes you feel good to know you can keep up with those "young wippersnappers"! Sorry that you can't make it to the reunion, but we could have another little "mini" one when you do come.

I am excited that there are only 3 more days of school for me! You can always feel that it is time for the kids to have a break...they start doing behaviors from the beginning of the year, are whinny, tattle...all with the unknown of summer. School is sometimes the only constant, safe place in their lives, unfortunately. But I am ready for summer vacation. That is the best thing about working at school...the break...only draw back...it doesn't pay during the summer (for Paras anyway). Luckily, I stretch out my check for that time.

Happy Thoughts, meeting on Wednesday at Barlows to work on the float. Anyone who is interested!

Friday, June 08, 2007

P.S. It's only 9:30 out here. I know it looks like I'm up late. Well, I usually am, but it's not late for me yet...
Wow! I'm baaaack!!! Twice in one day... Wonders never cease! You can rest easy, now Richard. :) Thanks for your thoughts on things.

I must say, again, I'm realllly bummed that I can't come back for the reunion.
so if i told karen v. a few things when do you think she would read them? i believe that information is not information if it is not communicated. this is a transmitter and receiver problem that perplexes this radio frequency engineer. i don't like it. i don't like it at all. so at the risk of so much jibberish until september when she checks in again, i will say this. the 4.0 is brilliant! that you want to stay healthy, too, is really great. i got very unhealthy by the end of four years with only a 3.4 in my mba program. it was a little more than others had accomplished and i had a little less gas in the tank because of it. it opened the door to the rest of my life. i would do it again in a heartbeat.
Now I feel guilty about trying to make Richard feel guilty..... so I'm glad you're guilt-free, Richard.

Good to see you here, Karen V. You're our best student of the year! Congratulations.
Hi all!

Couldn't sleep so logged on to the blog and have spent the last couple of hours catching up on all the old blogs. (Am I a slow reader?!) I last logged on in March! Have been so busy with school. Have to brag though - I managed to get another 4.0 last semester!

I was back East in April for my brother Tom's wedding. Had to take a detour to CT so my boys could see my ex's dad who was ailing. (He passed away May 27, a month after they saw him.) I only had one full day in VT and I spent it doing homework. (Am I dedicated, or what?!) However, this left me very cranky and depressed from not having enough time there. So, I've decided to come back when I can have more time to unwind and enjoy VT, probably early Aug. But, reading the blogs makes me wish I could be at the reunion. It's just too difficult with homework, though. Plus I'm trying to stay healthy and not get run down.

Kathi, Congrats on the new granddaughter!

Richard, Your blogs are very entertaining and crack me up. My life is pretty boring compared to yours.

Lori, Glad you had fun in wine country. Was there once with ex & boys during spring break about 5 years ago. Loved it there.

Pat, Sorry about the flood. I would be very upset if I lost any memorabilia.

Jerry, Sorry about your mom. That's never easy.

Karen, Congrats on the Mother's Day thing. You must be doing something right.

Hi Brian!!!

I did have a suggestion for the reunion. I had it for the last one but it never materialized. I thought it would be fun if we all had a one page summary of our life, answering fun questions, maybe some pictures, that we could combine into a booklet. Or maybe e-mail them. I'd be willing to spend a few bucks on a copy. That would also help out those of us who can't come to still feel part of the reunion.

Sorry to miss the fun. I'll just have to get out the yearbook and reminisce by myself instead. Too bad we can't videoconference! Send me pics, OK?

Thursday, June 07, 2007

I'm glad you're guilt free Richard. I don't want you to feel guilty I just want you to show up. If you possibly can.
hi. i am guilt free. you know that i would love to start with the first barbecue and go until the last song at the last party and maybe i will. my undisclosed guest has not been in touch, i am a single parent that gets little time to myself, and i am traveling early monday morning after the reunion weekend. that is the bad news. the good news is that i smile a lot, that i think you guys are great, and i will do my best to wang chung with chicks in jeans or dresses (maybe guys too).

Wednesday, June 06, 2007

You seem to be traveling a lot lately, Karen. Sounds exciting. It's good to get out of the routine once in a while.

Okay, Patti, I'm throwing some more guilt at Richard .... What? You still haven't sent in your RSVP????

I'm glad Brian Davis will be coming. We used to talk a lot in high school, and I haven't seen him since.
I heard from Debi (Lamphere) Lopes today and she will not be able to make it. She be in town for a family event the weekend before. Timing is everything. Karen V will be busy at summer school. Drats.

Debbie is compiling a list for me of who is coming so far. Karen I'll need your snail mail address to send it to you. You can send it to my email. 1ckmom1@maine.rr.com., rather than post here on line.
Richard, this me, shaking my finger at you and saying "shame, shame". Debbie tells me that she has NOT received your RSVP for the reunion. What's up with that? Don't you let us down...........

Karen, I expect you to weigh in here and convince him to take care of business! Come everyone, lets apply a little loving, pressure! Do you feel the love Richard????

Monday, June 04, 2007

I'm pretty sure I'm wearing a dress on Saturday. I look forward to opportunities to dress up because I work in such casual clothes.
Mr. Paul is still there?!!! How old is he?

My friend asked me what I'm wearing to the reunion. I hadn't even thought of that. I'm always in jeans. Are we supposed to get dressed up for the dinner?
Hi Everybody.
I am back home again!!! I miss my daughter and little ones but it is so nice to be in my own house.
Back to Kindergarten today. Rainy Monday so they will be inside, hopefully glad to see me and not too hyper!
I remember reading the New York Times and the questions on the board. I think we might have all been in the same class. I used to see him around town but haven't in a while.
Mr. Paul still teaches American Studies.
Have a great day and Happy Thoughts.....
I remember one very interesting concept from Mr. McHugh and his NY Times. He showed us how to fold it so you could read it on the subway barely moving it to turn the pages. That really stuck in my mind.

3 weeks to go. What to wear, what to wear?

How does a Friday night BBQ sound? We could plan to bring our own meat to grill and pick up munchies and salads to go with. then all we need is Deb and Ron's back yard! What do you think?

Sunday, June 03, 2007

I can hear you, Patti. All the way out here.

By the way, are any old teachers going to be at the reunion dinner? My parents are friends with the McHughs and want me to call them when I'm in Springfield. Did any of you have him for a history teacher? I did. He had us read the N.Y. Times every day. That's about all I remember.
