Kathi, I think you got the wrong Brian. This one isn't the one who came with Mario.

I'm having a hard time getting back into things. When you're on vacation, it's all about having fun, and then you get back to routine, which has its fun, too, but also all those obligations and responsibilities..... I just want to have fun! But the dishes have to get washed, too.

Patti, I don't have a problem with people reading, but not writing. I wish everyone would write, but I understand it--that's how I feel in big groups sometimes when I just listen, but don't talk.

Thanks for putting those pictures up, Karen! Good pictures! And I'll check out that site, Brian--after I psyche myself up for the technical challenge! Okay, okay, I know you said it's easy....
Brian, I tried Facebook and it said not accepting registrations at this time. So maybe it'll work later. Glad that you had a good time.
To those of you interested in the weather here in Springfield, its a big change from the last few days where it was in the 90s and humid. It is now 58 with a cool breeze. I am sure for those who dislike the hot this is a welcome change. Personally, I like it a tad warmer in the summertime! I am sure Pat will want it a little warmer on vacation, too. Its good mowing and cleaning weather, not swimming!
Have a good day everyone. Happy Thoughts............
Hi Gnag,
Whoo whee. I am still charged up from connecting with some awesome souls this weekend. I think this feelings gonna last a while. Thank you all for coming, and for all the amazing effort you put into this gathering. I really appreciate it.

Aside from that, I wish I could have spent more time with more of you, but it was all good, so I'll just soak in the love.

Okay, I did speak with a few of you about ways to get more people to join in, and maybe, just maybe people aren't joining because it's too difficult.

So try this experiment with me. Scoot your little ol' selves over to facebook.com and join up (it's free, of course). Try to do it without any help from your kids. Explore around, turn cloaking devices on an off, see how it works. Then do a search for "Springfield High School 1972 Vermont". That's the name of a group I started. I wanted it to be full of easy to find keywords.

So far I'm the only one there, but any random class member who joins Facebook might type in some of those words and find it. Since it's wide open to all, my thought was it would be easy to find and join. Go there, and let me know how it seems to you, awright? It could be good.

Love and Peace Out,

-=Brian

We leave tomorrow a.m for camp stopping in Portland to visit with Kevin and Colin. Dave will spend the first week there and then the third. I may stay for the month and then come back the end of July to work Fair Week. 7-27/8-4. I'm applying for a new position at school so I may need to change my plans.

I have everyone set as administrators and so anyone can invite others. All you need is their e mail address. Then they follow the directions in the message they get. It's easy. When you are at the dashboard choose posts. Then click the link above that says Moderate Comments. From there you choose Comment settings and then permissions. There you'll see the people who have ever written and are therefore authors, and below that any outstanding invitations. Give it a whirl!

I'll have my computer with all summer. I have to go to a particular area in the campsite to use it as they have not yet gone all wifi. It's just a hop, skip, and a jump over to the office though.

As far as people reading and not writing, Karen, did these folks say why they don't chime in? Just curious. It seems strange to me that's all.
Posting on here is like talking to friends. Sometimes one listens and sometimes one responds. I am sure not everyone is interested in responding to hearing about the weather in Springfield or that I washed windows and curtains today...
How does one get invited to blog? Can anyone invite others or just you, Pat? I really have no idea how that works. Is there a list of email addresses for classmates floating around? We should have had everyone update it on Saturday night.
Where are you going camping Pat? Too bad you couldn't have brought the camper as far as Springfield and gone from here. Does your whole family go and stay for the month, too? Are you going to bring your laptop??? How will you survive no computer for a month? lol. Well,
enjoy your vacation and rest up!
My kids and grandchildren are coming up next week to visit. I am so excited! I'll keep you fully informed!
Happy Thoughts...
It's been great hearing from folks about their reunion experiences. Good to know that folks are back home safely. I'm working like a fiend trying to get organized. We leave tomorrow a.m for NH. I can't believe I'll be there for the whole month!

Karen, you made an interesting observation about the blog. At our 30th many people signed up to be part of the blog. However, even though they signed on, most did not post, just read. To be frank, I'm not crazy about this. I know Janice doesn't post often but she is a blog author and could, and has. Also she write emails based on the posts she reads. Sorry to be talking about you Janice!

Right now with the new Blog program, only blog authors can post but anyone with the blog address can read. Over the last couple of months several people asked to be invited to the blog. We welcomed Eric and John came back occasionally. There are 4 outstanding invitations right now for people who asked to be invited. I'd be interested in knowing if we care to be open to any and all readers, knowing that they are voyeurs not participants. Nothing personal folks. We can set the site to be open only to the blog authors. These are the people who have responded to an invitation to be part of the Blog. Just wondering.........

the reunion was lots of fun. many different kinds that were all GREAT. it is true that we were in a tent and it is true that brian and i did survive the night. we were quite comfortable and slept until about 8:30. we were invited to breakfast right there at the farm in the morning and the food and conversation were fabulous. after three hours there, we were on our way. only 1820 days until the next one. can't wait!
They slept in a tent?!?!
One more thing--just wondering how Brian and Richard survived the night in their tent on Cherry Hill Rd. Hope you guys didn't freeze to death!
I think there were 60 at the dinner, but not all were classmates. Some were spouses. And, yes, Brian was the mystery date. Patti, I'm assuming someone more technical than me will put up some pictures for you to see, but if not, I'll get someone to help me put up some of mine. It was my first time using a digital, so I definitely haven't advanced to step 2 as far as uploading goes (or is it downloading?). Have a good time in N.H. Where are the rest of you????
Hi everyone! Muggy Tuesday morning here. Lots of rain expected over the next few days. Ick. I dumped a lot of things into the trailer last night before the rain so I wouldn't have to run back and forth getting things wet. almost have everything out there, I guess Dave is ready but his needs are so simple. I might want to change my clothes everyday you know? Anyway, I'll be there the whole month of July and would like to avoid the laundromat as much as possible.

I've enjoyed seeing the notes from Kathi and Lori. I'm glad you had a good time at the reunion. It sounds like things well well. I know there was a lot put into it. Debbie, Mike, Kathi, John, Janice, Karen long distance. Lots of folks worked hard for this. Anyone i haven't mentioned thanks to you too!! Any surprises? How many classmates attended? Was Brian Richard's mystery date?

Well, here I am back in L.A. Just arrived. Yesterday I got back to Burlington at 11:30 a.m. and went swimming in Lake Champlain with my brother and his family. We were lucky with the weather. It was beautiful.

I wanted to thank all of you for being the kind of people you are and making me glad I made the effort to fly all the way from L.A. for this reunion. It took me a little while to get back into things, but then I had so much fun--talking, laughing, dancing, seeing all of you. I love you guys. Thank you for everything. I miss you already. Springfield will always be special to me. Sorry you couldn't make it, Patti. We missed you.
Congratulations to all for pulling off a great 35th Class Reunion. Many thanks to all of you who helped out in every way. We are happy that many came long distances to be with us: CA, GA, PA, NC, MA, NH...and places between to Springfield.
The float idea worked well...thought the judges only gave us 2nd place in humorous....maybe they didn't appreciate the humor! We walked behind our reinactment of the poster with John Candy and Steve Martin in "Planes, Trains & Automobiles"...carrying face masks on sticks of the actors (probably copywrite violations but....). Rick drove the truck...seeming to speed up going up through the Main Street hills...making us chase him! Wonder if we'll be able to catch him in another 5 years!
The Hartness House worked out well (thanks Pat). The tables were decorated with collage vases filled with daisies and candles....party favors, all green and white theme. Looked pretty good, thanks Martha!! The appetizers and buffet consisting of fruit and veggie trays, salad, rolls,
veggie lasagna, beef, chicken, roasted potatoes and green beans with almonds with apple crisp for dessert. John LaPlante provided the music equipment and acted as DJ for the night, keeping background music going. We recrowned the 1972 Alumni Queen to her surprise!! Dedicated a moment of silence for our deceased classmates. We even dug out the class song we sang at graduation..even though we had trouble following the tune. It was fun matching faces with names. We had 60 people attend. We then went to KJ's to join the dancing with the class of 1977. A great time for memories and catching up with the lives of friends.
Again, thank you for all the great work putting the event together and Happy Thoughts.....
