I saw a little bit of the secrets show and would like to get the DVD. It seemed sensible and yet we often have to hear what we already know before we realize it. Did you understand that??

The show on slave children in Africa was very powerful and shocking. Our kids here in the US have no idea what life could be like if they were in another country.

I am glad that today is Friday! I could use a spa day! lol....after a week with no outside recesses.
The wind is brutally cold here with below zero windchills. Just getting dustings of snow, certainly nothing like out in New York by Syracuse where they are getting up to 100 inches. I used to like After the Show that was a half hour show on with Oprah guests for impromtu time with the studio audiences. Its nolonger on Oxygen, which I think is owned by Oprah's company. Saw some today about them rescuing Slave children in Africa. We'll all have to start sending good Happy Thoughts to each other and see if they return. Positive energy circling the world sounds like a great idea. Have a great weekend everybody. Here are my Happy Thoughts..........
I didn't see that, Patti, but I did see Oprah yesterday. I don't usually watch her show, but someone told me they'd be talking about the DVD, "The Secret," so I wanted to see what they had to say. Have any of you heard anything about that movie? Suddenly people here are starting to talk about it. I haven't seen the actual movie, but it's supposed to be some kind of motivational thing. The idea is "the law of attraction," meaning that whatever thoughts, feelings, etc. you send out into the universe is what comes back to you. So if you're thinking positive, that's what will start coming to you.

Happy yodeling, Richard!

Karen, keep us posted on the matchmaking results!
That's interesting Karen, we have a Castle Inn locally too. They have nifty holidy packages and Dave and I like to go over(it's in CA) occasionally just for dinner. Staying in the castle is nice though. All the rooms are different and guests are welcome to wander through the unoccupied room to check them out. The Inn is in a beautiful setting with x-country and snow mobile trails on the property.

Did you see Paula Deen on Oprah earlier this week? It was a riot! She dropped a small glass bowl with vanilla that she was adding to her cake mix. It hit the mixer blades and went flying along with batter. She and Oprah got batter on themselves and I don't know where that bowl ended up. Made for great viewing.

Hello lonely goat herd ----You lead such a busy and challenging life. Your management changes often and you travel so much. I like the travelling part but missed the kids when I was doing it. Of course they were much younger then. They're still missable but it's not as difficult. Heaven knows they always turn up so I can get used t them again. I'm witing for Kevin to realize that Portland is not all it was cracked up to be and he'll come home!

Colin's new job with United Way starts officially this a.m. I'm glad he's finally moving out of the restaurant. He's come to realize that it's going no where and has made a big move forward. He's working with the web site of the UW, posting their info and updating the site with new organizations joining.

I'm glad that gopher said spring is on the way because I'm really tired of being so COLD. No appreciable snow just COLD. Dave is skiing at Sunday River andwill be back tonight sometime. Nice to be able to take days off in the week the way he does.

Governor Baldacci is proposing a melding of school districts that will bring us from over 1oo to 26 districts. That's all well and good for the over the top administrative costs of the state but it will also mean losing funding for over 600 teaching positions. Which has to greatly increase class sizes, which is never a good thing. I feel my retirement years calling out to me.
