I think the one I'm talking about was Zumanity. Very mature themes Not the usual fun program. Certainly amazing Cirque physical stuff but some of it was too sexual for me to be comfortable. I remember at breakfast one of my friends asking what was hapening during part of the show and both of excusing ourselves from the table when it was explained to us. Ick. some things I don't need to know.
Thanks for the input on Cirque du Soleil. What's this nasty one you're talking about, Patti? I hadn't heard of that one. Are you sure it was Cirque du Soleil?!!! In the meantime, Amy's husband has been making us barbeques every night. He likes doing that, and we like eating what he makes....

Karen called me this morning and wanted to know if I made this snow happen as a joke! This snow is heavy. I shoveled the walks about 8 with about 8 inches and it wasn't too bad but when I went out a while ago, it was that heavy, heavy wet stuff, plus its raining. Needless to say, I only shoveled the minimal amount! Thought Karen would come over and help! Happy Thoughts...
Lori I agree with Richard, Cirque de Soleil is a wonderful experience. Dave and I went to 2 different programs the last time we were in Vegas. There is a "naughty" one that frankly I was embarassed by. I don't remember the name of it but it was showing at New York, NewYork. But then we went to the one playing at Treasure Island, the show was called Mystique. It was phenominal. I kept turning my head trying to look everywhere all the time.

Have a wonderful time and please say hi to Amy for me.

lori, have fun with amy. cirque du soleil is a perfect idea. what fun. there is nothing quite like their shows. if you find the perfect mood (and you should) i think it is really magic. and in any great magic there is the promise, the turn, and the prestige (for those who saw the movie- the prestige). the promise is the reality of what you first see, the turn is the unexpected that happens next, and the prestige is the complete surprise that completes the act. it is said that the entire perfomance is not done for the audience, but rather for the performers who get to look and see the look that the prestige evokes in the eyes and faces of the audience. i remember feeling that way. i really wondered if the performers could see that look of wonder in my face. i really hoped that they could, cuz i felt like they had given something really special and the look on my face was all i had to give back. what a great thing to do.
Karen is on her way North and bringing a Noreastern....we are anticipating up to a foot of snow...I didn't want to scare her off when she said she was bringing ankle boots. Happy March....winter is almost over...so I hear! I'll let you know about our lovely weather.
I haven't heard anything about the reunion.........
I'm off to the airport soon to get my sister Amy and her husband. We're looking forward to this visit. Next week we're going with them to Las Vegas for 2 nights. Usually we do nature things, but they haven't been there for 30 years and wanted to see the changes. It's changed a lot in that time. We're hoping to see a Cirque du Soleil show while we're there....

I have heard recently from Jerry Bolio and Cathy Capron. They're asking whether or not there will be a reunion. If anyone out there is involved with "the committee" to finalize plans, folks are wondering about it so hopefully we'll hear from you shortly.
Roland, you've lost me. Were we speaking of politics in education? No I don't listen to Whoever that was, but I'm curious why would it get my dander up?

Maybe I'm just tired, and not following but the part about Irish Cousin????
speaking of politics in education..... does anyone listen to talk radio Neal Bortz? Pat, he aught to get your dander up a bit if you do. Oh, I have 1st cousins in Ireland and the family owns a real castle they're making into an Inn. Its up in Co Claire I believe.
hey gang, took me awhile to learn the new blog. the format is different and our class account is on the old one. they switched me automatically but then I couldn't acces the class of 72 as they said it wasn't converted over yet. any feedback or maybe I should change back to the old form if I can. It was over 70 today, supposed to stay that way for next five days here in the sunny south!
Boy you are a busy woman! Make sure you look me up sometime when you are back here. I'd love to get to gether with you and Janice. Bring your hipboots...not ankle boots! You can always borrow some from me! lol....Today was another beautiful day...no daffadils or crocuses though.
I will spend two weeks in May at my daughters in NC ...she is due to have her baby on our birthday..She was my birthday present 27 years ago and will hopefully have this baby on her 28th birthday...and mine. So, we will all cross our fingers that she doesn't go into labor before that date! (I have a twin brother too...so why not share with a grandbaby!) Happy Thoughts....

It was finally a beautiful day here....just right temps 40s and sunny with no wind. Kids are finally outside playing! It is sooo nice. We went out today and hung birdfeeders outside our big windows in the classroom so they can start bird watching. They were so excited because there were chickadees this afternoon.
Sending Happy Thoughts to those who need it!

It's really nice that the film students took on that project of honoring Vermont's fallen soldiers. From what I saw on the website you mentioned, Kathi, they did a good job--if you can call something so sad and painful a "good job."

How did Paula die?

Sunday, February 25, 2007

We went to the showing of the documentary Vermonts Fallen at Norwich yesterday afternoon.
It was very emotional to watch but comforting in a unfortunate way. You knew that everyone in that room had been directly affected by the war in Iraq and that all the feelings I feel are felt by others. They have some additions to make before it is distributed or played. It was done as a project for the film students in the school. They did a wonderful job in making these Vermonters real. Thanks for listening....special thoughts go to Paula. May she find peace.
