Wish you could plan my events, Patti. I've mastered the Friday night dinners with Avi's family, but organizing any other kind of dinner/barbecue/event is enough to throw me off the deep end (for a while). Sometimes I feel sorry for Avi's sister when she has us all over for the Jewish holidays. Avi has to remind me that not everyone is like me. Thank God we're all different. But, Kathi, I can definitely understand your stress!

That's the part of having son's that I regret. Not getting to plan the weddings. I really enjoy planning events. Not the paying for part so much but love to plan. My son's know that that the only restriction to finding a wife is that she has to love me more than her own mom. that way I can still have them home for all the big events. See, I even planned their futures!!!

Anyway, 70's and rain here. Inservice for us Kathy is Monday and kids arrive on Tues. That means of course that the weather will be spectacular starting Tuesday a.m. and continuing on through Friday where it will turn cold and clammy in the night and stink all weekend.. Sunny on Monday, you get the picture.

Dave will be starting his new job on the 17th. of Sept.
Yes, Lori, that is my daughter in NYC. (One can listen to her music at www.rubybullet.com)....I am just thinking of all the stuff that needs to be done around my house itself before all the "wedding" stuff...oh well, I am sure it will come together in the end. I am told not to get "stressed" about it! We'll see. I went to a Inservice meeting today for school. I can not believe that the summer is over. It is 90 something today after being in the 60s all week. One never knows here in VT! Happy Thoughts...........
Kathi, is that your musician daughter from New York who's getting married? I didn't know about that. Is that a recent decision? Anyway, congratulations! And good luck planning everything. I don't like the planning part. That's not the kind of thing I'm good at.

Lori, sounds like you had a wonderful vacation/trip! I am amazed at all your family does together. Congratulations on your son's engagement. We are planning a wedding for next September...I tried to convince her for August (seeings as I have the summer off and kids don't have to be taken out of school to come) but September won out. Now we are talking hosting it here at our house........outside with tents, etc.....Anyone want to come be my "wedding planner"!!! My daughter has definite ideas on what she wants, etc...purple, dark red....not a cutesy wedding, you know! Maybe even busing their NYC friends who don't own cars....We shall see...Pat sounds like things are definitely changing in your household, good luck! I can't believe that summer is almost officially over (*once school starts for me). It has been very cool here...40s at night, highs in the 60s the past week. I am wearing long sleeves and sweatshirts...tomorrow is suppose to go back into the 90s....so we will enjoy the last weekend!
Happy Thoughts everyone!

Hey there Lori. It takes me about 2 3/4 hours driving here to Bangor. So it certainly shortens the trip to VT if I were leaving from there. Next summer when I stay in NH it will be easy for Dave to come and stay.
How far is Bangor from where you live, Patti? Probably nothing compared to the trip to Vermont. I'm always amazed at how easily you do that. Nine hours?!

Welcome home Lori. It certainly sounds like an action packed trip. Tiring as you mentioned but wonderful to be with all the family!

Dave heard today that he received a promotion and transfer to the office in Bangor. He starts middle of next month. Things are changing here for sure. I'm going to stay here and work for the school year and we'll make sure he's going to stick with Bangor.
Hi everyone. We got back from Israel on Sunday and were so tired we slept from 3 p.m. until the morning. Now I'm trying to get back into things. There's a huge stack of mail on the table that I keep postponing looking at. Sicily was really fun. There were 25 of us. My whole family--parents, brother, sisters, spouses, kids. I laugh a lot when I'm with my brother and sisters. We're on the same wave length, so the same things make us laugh. I wish we didn't live so far away and could be together more often. My father did a good job planning the day trips. My favorite was walking on the top of Mt. Etna, an active volcano with smoke coming out in different places. It was like being on the moon. Cold and windy on top. We were holding on to each other so we wouldn't blow away!
Israel was also fun, but more tiring. I like to see everyone (family and friends) as much as possible, so that means we're constantly driving from one place to another cuz they all live in different places. So it definitely wasn't the relaxing kind of vacation. Also, I wasn't alone this time so I had to take other people's needs into consideration. I'm not complaining. It's just different. Avi was with me and also our daughter and her husband and our son Omer. It was Darren's (my daughter's husband) first time in Israel, so we did some traveling around with them. It was also the first time most of my family had met him. We had a dinner in their honor in Sicily--sort of to welcome him into the family. Oh and by the way, my son Rafi and his girlfriend Kristine went to Barcelona after the vacation in Sicily, and he proposed to her there! So now we have 2 weddings coming up, I don't know when. My daughter is officially married, but still hasn't had the wedding party and still wants to....

I'm publishing an English/Hebrew book of my poems in Israel. My sister Katie did the translations. It's self-publishing, but they help you market and distribute it. It's supposed to be ready in 4 months. That's all my news....

Home again last evening and settling back in until we return to NH for Columbus Day Weekend. We'll spend our 28th Anniversary in the campground. we finally got word that we'll be able to have a seasonal site stating with the 08 season. We've been on the waiting list for several years. No more moving the camper just set it down and leave it. It's like having a camp on a lake without the hassle of upkeep. We did have some really cold nights last week but I just threw on a warm blanket at night and flipped on the furnace in the morning.
