I still don't really understand what happened, but I'm trying to see it as something that happened for the best. They do still really care about each other and want to stay friends and they haven't ruled out the possibility that they'll decide to get back together in the future. So we'll see what happens. It's too big a commitment to make if one or both aren't sure about it.
Lori that's remarkable about Rafi. I wonder if perhaps when they finally decided on marriage the reality was not what they or one of them expected? It's a shame that it has worked out this way.
I don't know how Karen's idea sounds to you, Patti, but it sounds good to me--a cozy little place to be together on the weekend without the headache of taking care of a bigger place. Maybe it doesn't make sense to get a bigger place now when you're not sure you want to move there. I understand your feelings about the move. On the other hand, I think the only thing that helps in these situations is when both people try to see things from the other person's point of view. You might not agree with it, but it could still be valid when you understand the way he thinks. It's so hard to find the middle ground sometimes! I'm like a little kid sometimes. I want to do things my way...

I'm feeling down right now. I told you all that my son Rafi got engaged to his girlfriend last month when they were in Barcelona. Well, yesterday he told me they broke up. I thought he was kidding at first. They've been together for about 5 years and seem so good together. I was in shock. I guess it could still change, but for now, that's the decision. He didn't want to go into much detail, so I don't really get what happened. I think it's something about her needing to figure some things out. I feel so bad for him. He really loves her.

I really don't want to move. It's Dave who keeps saying he is going to spend his time looking for just the right community down there so I'll be willing to drop everything and go. Last night though he was talking about a nice little one bedroom apartment with no cable and no internet. What on earth does he think I'm going to do down there? Not even be able to use my computer unless I go over the library across from his new office? I don't think so...........

He figures and I agree it will take time to learn about the areas available and so he'll get an apt. in the meantime. But I don't don't see myself going from 3 bedroom to 1. No dining room, no space, no yard. No way.

Monday, September 10, 2007

I'm not expecting the worst but I wish that Dave could understand that his desire for change and more cash in his war chest does not readily translate to me. I am a person of simpler desires, content with the good things I already see in my daily walk. I'm not overly worried about being financially solvent in retirement. I know he's got that covered and frankly I'm not looking for extra. With my physical liabilities I see "right now" as more of a focus point. He's already dropped his coming home every weekend concept and didn't come home until after 8 last night. Instead of a nice apartment or small house to rent where we could be comfortable together when I travel down there he's already talking about one bedroom apartments because they are cheaper. Again, he doesn't hear me when I talk about creating a nice home for us down there. Instead it's how cheaply can he get by. It's too bad we aren't hearing each other when we talk.

Karen your trip to Savannah sounds fabulous. A lovely area to be sure. You describe the area wonderfully. I could picture it in my mind and hear the music. Nice.
Let's just say that marriage is hard work....guess one has to decide if the payoff outweighs the options.

On Saturday, I walked in a 10k run/walk up at Camp Johnson. It was put on by the National Guard appropriately called Vermont Remembers. After the race, there was a BBQ and entertainment, games and activities for all the kids. It was very well participated in and I felt very rewarded doing the walk. My nephew started off walking with his "old" aunts but I let him go and run ahead. Everyone was impressed that he finished the race along with the other adults. He was the only 9 year old to do it. They had a seperate race for kids but he wanted to do this one for his dad. On a personal side, I passed a team of soldiers marching with their packs on singing in cadence...they were funny, cheering us on and after getting by there they started with the song "There she goes walking down the street...etc....made me walk faster just so they wouldn't be watching the body move!!! I think the 2 hour drive back home was the worse part....I got so stiff sitting in the car I could hardly move...not so bad this morning, thank goodness! I will definitely do this again next year...hopefully, it won't be on the wedding weekend!
I am so glad you feel good about leaving your son off at college, Karen. I think there is something to be said about the last one going off...you are happy for them and should be proud of the great job you have done!
Rained here yesterday for the first time in over a month. Think we might have showers off and on today too...let's hope we can take those little ones out for recess!!!
Have a great day everybody! Happy Monday......with Happy Thoughts.............

Saturday, September 08, 2007

I don't think you should expect the worst, Patti. You said it's 2 and a half hours away, right? That's not really so much to have to drive on a weekend. Maybe you'll start enjoying your time alone and appreciating each other more when you are together. It was sort of like that for us when we moved back to Israel for 5 years. Avi traveled back and forth and was usually in Israel for a month and then in L.A. for 3 weeks. The traveling was hard on him, but I kind of liked having a few weeks to myself and then a few weeks with him when he didn't have to work. So don't rule it out yet!

Friday, September 07, 2007

It's strange being alone this time actually. Knowing that this is the beginning of a permanent lifestyle change. I don't expect he'll come home on the weekends as often as he thinks he will. that will get old pretty quick.

there's a women expo this weekend that I'm looking forward to. it's 54 vendors from ME and CA all geared around women's "issues" or interests. Should be loads and fun and there are great give aways all day. Maybe I'll win a new bathroom or a x-country ski package. It could happen!

Got a note from Colin this morning. He has taken a job in a restaurant in Portland. Back to the kitchen he goes. I'm surprised but he said it's not that he didn't like cooking it was the pay scale that frustrated him.
How are you doing so far, Patti? I hope you're enjoying your time alone.

Wednesday, September 05, 2007

Well Dave left for Bangor today. He's spending the weekend with his Dad though so he won't be home till Sunday night.

Tuesday, September 04, 2007

That sounds good, Kathi--sitting outside and reading a book all day. Much better than cleaning the basement. Have fun back at school. Patti, too.
Thanks for the invite Kathi!

Back to school in just over an hour. Booo Hooo. I'll be glad when the parameters of new job leverl out. Every day is so random. I just get started on something and suddenly it's something else the office wants done. I have the feeling I'm picking up all the "junk jobs" no one else wants. At least I'm off my feet and that's what I needed so I should stop whining.

Have great week everyone!

Monday, September 03, 2007

It was a beautiful day here today. High 80s but with a breeze. I started cleaning out the basement (a job that I put off all summer) and got one corner done! Then I decided it was too nice to be inside so I sat out back and read a book. Neil was working and didn't get home until close to 5. So, it was a relaxing day before I start Laboring back with Kindergarteners tomorrow!
I hope that everybody comes back this fall....you could meet at my house. I might have it cleaned by then!
No yard work for me. We're just dying of heat out here. It's like an oven outside. We haven't gotten back into our walking because it's been too hot. Last night Avi and I jumped in the pool at 10:30 p.m. to cool off a little. The air conditioner is on but can't seem to keep up with the heat.

That would be fun if we could all work it out to get together. I know what you mean about seeing your parents, Karen. I just saw mine in Israel, but every time they go to Vermont, I feel like I should take advantage of the opportunity to see them when they're a little closer.

Karen, I don't think you're a blabber! But if you are, what's wrong with that? At least you get out whatever's on your mind. Thanks for your comments, though.

Patti, give this Bangor thing a chance. Maybe it will turn out better than you're expecting!
I just came in from trimming out a whole bunch of trees. I used a bow saw and so I got a lot of upper body exercise! I had to drag all the branches out to the "way back" to where Dave will want to have them rot. Dave is painting window sills and trim outside. He replaced the gutters out front yesterday. He says he's going to mow today too. I think he's feeling a little pressed for time what with taking off this Wednesday for Bangor and not coming back until Sunday night, after a side trip to his Dad's. Then next week he's out of town Wed & TH. After that, well who knows. His first day of work officially is the 17th. He says he's coming home every weekend. Wonder how long that will last?

Karen I really hope we can all get together! That would be wonderful. Let's all hope for a workable Date...........

Sunday, September 02, 2007

Just give me a holler when you know what you'll be doing and I'll try to work things out. I hate to go till next summer time. Debbie Young was asking me if I thought people would like to get together randomly like when folks from away are around. Personally I think it's a great idea. She, Janice and Linda were saying they already miss the class meetings they were enjoying while preparing for the reunion. If it works out maybe we have do something this Oct like the bunch of us did last year!
I haven't decided yet, Patti, if I'm coming in October. My parents will be there so I was thinking of going to see them. I'll let you know. That would be great to see you!

Saturday, September 01, 2007

Lori when re you coming back to VT? this fall sometime? Hope so cuz it'll come and see you if you are.
Thank you, thank you! I'm already feeling better. That confidence issue just hits me every once in a while. Or maybe more than once in a while, but it doesn't usually get me so down like it did this time. Patti, I just realized that since you weren't at the reunion, I didn't give you a copy of my book of poems. I'll have to give you one sometime.... It's so good to have "blog friends." I love you guys.
Well it just so happens that I keep my copies of your poems (circa 2005) close by. Having just re-read them, I can tell you in no particular order my favorites of the day.
Unwelcome Guests, Scar, Tears, and Sweet Tea.

Here's the great thing about today's choices. Lori, your poems are so personal and meaningful that my need for them and feelings for and about them change with my moods and my life's needs. In a couple of days, I might have different needs for your poetry. I'll find it, I'm sure of that.

Thanks for being so willing and for be able to share these parts of you my very dear friend.
Lori, you are great and your poems are heartfelt! You have no need to feel unworthy of the others. We are all different and they should respect that aspect. I used to worry about how others thought of me at school (adults) and now, its like this is who I am. I don't have to change myself or worry about what they think because the only thing that matters is how you feel about YOU! Be confident in who you are! I avoid confrontation because I don't like it but if I have to give an opinion I can. Sometimes I just choose not to.
Trust me I know about the not understanding things too....just tell them you have to think about it a little longer! I think you are wonderful, creative, sensitive and giving. Believe in You. Happy Thoughts.............

Friday, August 31, 2007

Happy Birthday from me too, Karen! It's good to hear what you've all been up to. I'm not up to anything exciting right now, Kathi. I felt good the first week back and thought I managed to escape the effects of jet lag this time. But I guess it hit me a week later--that overwhelming feeling of having a million things to do. And I'm feeling sorry for myself and need to complain a little. Hope you don't mind. If you do, don't read this! I'm just having some bad feelings about myself regarding that poetry group I'm in. I feel like I'm the "dumbest one in the class" and hate feeling like that. There are only 5 of us, but I feel like the others write much better poems than I do. I also have a problem giving feedback to them on their poems. I like to talk when I have something to say, not when I feel like I HAVE to say something. Then I suddenly have nothing to say. And sometimes I don't understand their poems and am embarrassed to admit that cuz it seems like I'm the only one who doesn't get it. Okay, is that enough? Can you just tell me how wonderful I am????
Happy Birthday Karen, hope you have some help at home taking care of Rich. You seem to be one of the busiest ladies I know. Family care taking, travel and general doing. It's what's keeps you going I suppose. All those things that are on your schedule. Hopefully you are finding time for just taking care of you too!

Thursday, August 30, 2007

I guess that we've gotten the rain you need Kathi. Lot's of hard rain but this weekend is supposed to be cooler but pleasant. A nice long weekend.
Dave is looking at housing in the Bangor area. He keeps saying he's going to find a nice, fun community that'll entice me to come down to live. He's crazy, its not going to happen . You don't move somewhere and randomly find the perfect little neighbor community. It takes years of living somewhere to meet people and get involved in the life.
We talked about getting a place on a lake but that can't happen without selling this house. That's not going to happen.
Our first week of school finishes up tomorrow. Then we have two more 4 - day weeks before we get into the usual 5 day week. My new job is changing everyday. I get assigned more and more different tasks each day. I only see a couple of kids in my "room" each day. Later on, a few weeks or more from now we'll start an after school program for at risk students. That means anyone failing even one class will be required to participate. For now, I do mostly clerical duties.
I guess there just isn't much exciting news for anyone to write! I am back into the swing of school. I have written names so many times that I could tell you, alphabetically who is in the class really fast! Kindergarten teachers are doing homevisits this week so our kids don't actually come until Tuesday. It makes it nice that we get some sort of idea what the group will be like before they come. Interesting so far! We do have a new librarian who is also a redhead, so we might start a "redhead club'....she is pretty funny. Anyways, I think things will go well.
Pat, I hope that your new class has started off well....What are you doing?
Lori, what exciting adventures have you been up to since you got home? It really was fun getting to see you in June.
I know that Karen was in Florida last week taking care of her mother-in-law and got home Tuesday night on her birthday. Happy Birthday Karen! Yesterday Rich had surgery on his shoulder, so now she is playing nurse again!
Brian and Richard, where are you guys? Kids are back at school so now you have no excuse!
Hot here today, thundering now, not sure if the storm will hit here or go around. We really need rain.
Happy thoughts and .....hello, back!
yeah, what she said............Hello, Hello???
Hello??? Hello???? Anyone out there?????

Saturday, August 25, 2007

Wish you could plan my events, Patti. I've mastered the Friday night dinners with Avi's family, but organizing any other kind of dinner/barbecue/event is enough to throw me off the deep end (for a while). Sometimes I feel sorry for Avi's sister when she has us all over for the Jewish holidays. Avi has to remind me that not everyone is like me. Thank God we're all different. But, Kathi, I can definitely understand your stress!

Friday, August 24, 2007

That's the part of having son's that I regret. Not getting to plan the weddings. I really enjoy planning events. Not the paying for part so much but love to plan. My son's know that that the only restriction to finding a wife is that she has to love me more than her own mom. that way I can still have them home for all the big events. See, I even planned their futures!!!

Anyway, 70's and rain here. Inservice for us Kathy is Monday and kids arrive on Tues. That means of course that the weather will be spectacular starting Tuesday a.m. and continuing on through Friday where it will turn cold and clammy in the night and stink all weekend.. Sunny on Monday, you get the picture.

Dave will be starting his new job on the 17th. of Sept.
Yes, Lori, that is my daughter in NYC. (One can listen to her music at www.rubybullet.com)....I am just thinking of all the stuff that needs to be done around my house itself before all the "wedding" stuff...oh well, I am sure it will come together in the end. I am told not to get "stressed" about it! We'll see. I went to a Inservice meeting today for school. I can not believe that the summer is over. It is 90 something today after being in the 60s all week. One never knows here in VT! Happy Thoughts...........
Kathi, is that your musician daughter from New York who's getting married? I didn't know about that. Is that a recent decision? Anyway, congratulations! And good luck planning everything. I don't like the planning part. That's not the kind of thing I'm good at.

Thursday, August 23, 2007

Lori, sounds like you had a wonderful vacation/trip! I am amazed at all your family does together. Congratulations on your son's engagement. We are planning a wedding for next September...I tried to convince her for August (seeings as I have the summer off and kids don't have to be taken out of school to come) but September won out. Now we are talking hosting it here at our house........outside with tents, etc.....Anyone want to come be my "wedding planner"!!! My daughter has definite ideas on what she wants, etc...purple, dark red....not a cutesy wedding, you know! Maybe even busing their NYC friends who don't own cars....We shall see...Pat sounds like things are definitely changing in your household, good luck! I can't believe that summer is almost officially over (*once school starts for me). It has been very cool here...40s at night, highs in the 60s the past week. I am wearing long sleeves and sweatshirts...tomorrow is suppose to go back into the 90s....so we will enjoy the last weekend!
Happy Thoughts everyone!

Wednesday, August 22, 2007

Hey there Lori. It takes me about 2 3/4 hours driving here to Bangor. So it certainly shortens the trip to VT if I were leaving from there. Next summer when I stay in NH it will be easy for Dave to come and stay.
How far is Bangor from where you live, Patti? Probably nothing compared to the trip to Vermont. I'm always amazed at how easily you do that. Nine hours?!

Tuesday, August 21, 2007

Welcome home Lori. It certainly sounds like an action packed trip. Tiring as you mentioned but wonderful to be with all the family!

Dave heard today that he received a promotion and transfer to the office in Bangor. He starts middle of next month. Things are changing here for sure. I'm going to stay here and work for the school year and we'll make sure he's going to stick with Bangor.
Hi everyone. We got back from Israel on Sunday and were so tired we slept from 3 p.m. until the morning. Now I'm trying to get back into things. There's a huge stack of mail on the table that I keep postponing looking at. Sicily was really fun. There were 25 of us. My whole family--parents, brother, sisters, spouses, kids. I laugh a lot when I'm with my brother and sisters. We're on the same wave length, so the same things make us laugh. I wish we didn't live so far away and could be together more often. My father did a good job planning the day trips. My favorite was walking on the top of Mt. Etna, an active volcano with smoke coming out in different places. It was like being on the moon. Cold and windy on top. We were holding on to each other so we wouldn't blow away!
Israel was also fun, but more tiring. I like to see everyone (family and friends) as much as possible, so that means we're constantly driving from one place to another cuz they all live in different places. So it definitely wasn't the relaxing kind of vacation. Also, I wasn't alone this time so I had to take other people's needs into consideration. I'm not complaining. It's just different. Avi was with me and also our daughter and her husband and our son Omer. It was Darren's (my daughter's husband) first time in Israel, so we did some traveling around with them. It was also the first time most of my family had met him. We had a dinner in their honor in Sicily--sort of to welcome him into the family. Oh and by the way, my son Rafi and his girlfriend Kristine went to Barcelona after the vacation in Sicily, and he proposed to her there! So now we have 2 weddings coming up, I don't know when. My daughter is officially married, but still hasn't had the wedding party and still wants to....

I'm publishing an English/Hebrew book of my poems in Israel. My sister Katie did the translations. It's self-publishing, but they help you market and distribute it. It's supposed to be ready in 4 months. That's all my news....

Monday, August 20, 2007

Home again last evening and settling back in until we return to NH for Columbus Day Weekend. We'll spend our 28th Anniversary in the campground. we finally got word that we'll be able to have a seasonal site stating with the 08 season. We've been on the waiting list for several years. No more moving the camper just set it down and leave it. It's like having a camp on a lake without the hassle of upkeep. We did have some really cold nights last week but I just threw on a warm blanket at night and flipped on the furnace in the morning.

Saturday, August 18, 2007

Pat, hope your camper has lots of blankets tonight...suppose to get down into the 40s. It definitely felt like October weather here today. High 66 and windy. Good day for mowing, which I did. Only one more week of vacation for me too....just when I'm getting into the groove. Told you before, that retirement could look good. Where is everybody???? Out enjoying those last summer moments??? Let's hear all the exciting adventures! Lori, have a safe journey home. Glad that you are visiting all your family and friends. Roland, haven't seen you on Facebook....could you navigate into the site?? Happy Thoughts...

Thursday, August 16, 2007

Kathi, I too had problems with facebook but it finally let me in today, now..... if I can navigate it
For some wonderful reason my internet is accessible right here in my camp site today. It's pretty nifty. The days are still lovely but not so hot and the nights are much cooler for sleeping. Cool enough for an extra blanket in fact. Dave and I are really enjoying these last couple of weeks of vacation. Back to my classroom the first of next week.

Had a great visit with friends in Rutland last week. Some we hadn't seen in 20 years. So interesting that some folks still are so recognizable and others not so. Last visit with my sister for some months now I imagine. Tried to get her to think about moving north with us but she's not at all interested.

Sounds like you've got your hands full Karen, hope everyone is getting better. Off to the beach I guess. Poor me :)
Hi everyone. I've been having a good but hectic visit--a lot of running around from place to place so we can see everyone as much as possible. I'm too tired to write more than that right now. I'll be back in L.A. on the 19th. I'll write more when I'm back. I've been reading what you're all up to, though! Just not giving anything back right now. Sorry....

Wednesday, August 15, 2007

Nothing too exciting happening here on this side of Springfield. Feels almost like a fall day today. Breezy and sort of cloudy..maybe it'll rain, too. I went to Milton on Monday and had a nice visit with my sister-in-law. I was helping her put her kitchen back together after major renevations. It is really beautiful. Today, my sister came down with my niece and nephew to visit. Growing up too fast. Neil had the day off and we did recycling...hummm...now I'll got think of something for dinner. Karen, I hope you are not Nurse Rachet!! Make sure someone is taking care of You, too.
Happy Thoughts....

Thursday, August 09, 2007

The sound of power saws can still be heard all around the town. Folks will be quite a while cutting out from under the terrible storm last Friday. Dave and I were lucky and had minimal tree damage. Just some limbs that were easy to tote off .

Been spending several hours a day in my new classroom getting it ready. We leave tomorrow afternoon to go back to camp in NH. We'll be there until the 19th. One week left till school opens at that point so I'm glad I'm as far ahead as I am. My new job is becoming more diversified and more interesting every day. I'm looking forward to it.

Gas prices are dropping from $3.12 to 2.70ish so traveling south this weekend and then over to Rutland Saturday won't be as expensive as we were planning on.
It is beautiful here today. No humidity. It rained yesterday and when it stopped in the late morning it turned very hot and humid. NOthing like 100 though! High 80s. I just did some outside trimming, which I hate to do. I am so short and the trimmer so tal land heavy that I never get the right angle and always break the cord. I end up spending more time putting the new cord in then trimming. The field by our house was mowed this week but they never get close to the fence so I go over the other side and trim that so I can see out into the fields.
Nurse Karen.....I am sure you will do fine...maybe the patients won't though!!! Doesn't sound like fun for any of you. Good luck!!!
Less then 3 weeks before school starts.....Happy Thoughts..........

Tuesday, August 07, 2007

Well that was nice of him wasn't it? Thanks Brian. i was just questioning the whole read ony thing that folks do. I'm not terribly concerned about it.
As far as facebook goes, I'm not sure why we are doing both? I do like the ease of the photo inserts but we can do that here as well. Just wondering???
We are picking lots from the garden right now. We really need a good soaking rain. The little bit we got yesterday amounted to nothing as the soil wasn't even wet. Back to humid and warm today. Fine with me, wish I could bottle it up and save it.
Just a word on grieving. Its suppose to be emotional but we wouldn't call that a menapausal thing, Roland. I went through the grieving emotional stuff way before I hit the "age" ....so, my suggestion is to just go with the flow and let your emotions take you to where they need to. There is no right or wrong in being emotional. It doesn't matter if you are male or female when it comes to loosing your parent. I'm sorry that you are dealing with that and wish your mother peace and happiness.
It was great getting together with Karen and Janice. I always have a good time chatting and catching up on things.
I am trying to get some things done before school starts....like cleaning out the basement, painting my bathroom...I am way behind but oh well...it'll get done eventurally. Right now I would rather sit outside in the backyard reading a book! Two more weeks.....
Facebook has been pretty slow! Where is everybody??? Lets hear from you!
Happy Thoughts......................

Monday, August 06, 2007

All right then, but having had time to breath deeply and consider all the things I would truly like to say, this is all I'm going to say on the subject. It's spelled menopause you dope!!! Sorry ladies, I know I've disappointed you but my better angels got the best of me. Maybe next time.

Sunday, August 05, 2007

Somebody stop me before I say something I may regret.
Hey all, we did get Hospice for mom and my emotions are like ,,, well maybe a womans menapause?????? this just isn't suppose dot happen. Reading the posts sounds like it was great. School has started back up this week down here in somne spots and our fall semister @ church had its big bang today and went well. I will try looking into that facebook.com and checque it out. I finally decided to splurge and get something I always wanted and absolutely love it. I am now the proud owner of my first Land Rover. Not new but very good condition. Joined the Appalachian Rovers and hope to get some R&R on trips and meets. The "clan" of owners is almost like the "volvo clan" I belonged to for som many years. I still like the ol 164 models. Biltmore here I come. (its the closest Rover experience around). Glad all went well. Been really hot here and not much rain. ciao for now.

Wednesday, August 01, 2007

I read a tremendous article on the 750 words written by The Washington Post regarding Hillary Clinton's cleavage. An outrageous waste of the Post's reporting. I laughed quite a bit reading the editorial however. It's well written and very funny. I particularly enjoyed it as we head back to school and deal with "summer cleavage" among our student population. Trust me folks, there are way too many hormones in the foods our children are eating.

Tuesday, July 31, 2007

i read the new york times everyday. i get it online. today i read about the 342 different reasons that motivate people to have sex. it's in the science times section which is always a fav for me. there were well over 200 reasons that have never driven me to such activity, especially the one with ice cubes.

Monday, July 30, 2007

It is the perfect Vermont summer weather right now. As I've said before, too bad we couldn't bottle up some of it and save for January!
Happy Birthday to Mr. McHugh and many more. Wonder if he still reads The NewYork Times...how many of you still do?????
Happy Thoughts

Friday, July 27, 2007

A split second after I hurriedly published my posted message this morning I realized that I didn't include Charlie McHugh's mailing address as I did back in June or whenever if anyone wanted to hunt for it back there. Soooooooooooo...it is 9 Pine Brook Lane Unit G5, North Springfield, VT 05150. Have a Happy 90th, Charlie!!
Hi, This may be a bit short notice for those who don't check in that often, but I just wanted to post the reminder of Charlie McHugh's 90th birthday coming up on Tuesday the 31st. He might get a kick out of hearing from some of us. Glad everyone is spending some time in the cooler water. Will be attending my cousin's daughter's wedding in Hinesburg on the 4th with reception following in Charlotte. My cousin Bruce, the Dad, had a stroke early morning the 17th and is in rehab at Fanny Allen in Colchester. He should be able to be OK at the big day. Jerry
Pat, I am glad that you have made some decisions. Life challenges us all in some form or other. I hope that all works out the way you want. I always think there is no better thing then my own bed after being gone from home. Enjoy the rest of your "vacation"....keep in touch.
Hope Karen and Lori are enjoying their vacations too. It was in the 90s here yesterday. I spent the afternoon sitting on a float, dangling my feet into the clear blue water of a friend's pool. I did get exercise, moving my hands back and forth to navigate the float! Such a life it was! Reality set in and I had to come home and make dinner....hummmmm....Happy Thoughts!

It's been a long time coming but I'm ready to head for home. Dave arrived this morning and based on the weather we'll probably head back to head to the wilds of Maine on Friday. I'm miss my gardens and am anxious to see my new classroom. I'm not going to work at the fair this year since I've not been home for a month. My bed at home will be a real treat!!

We went sailing today with a friend on his catamaran. It's great fun.

Well, the excitement of the Simpson's in Springfield is over.

It was a crazy day down in the main street yesterday. The weather was perfect for the big event. Lots and lots of people lined up to try and win tickets to the showing of the movie. Many reporting teams from the networks and newspapers roamed the streets looking for "the perfect" interview. Music, food and entertainment ...Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie all came for the big premiere, along with their "seeing eye" people, to make sure they didn't fall on their faces on the yellow carpet and through the crowd. Nothing like being up close and personal with Homer! I didn't win tickets to see the movie or buy the $20 t-shirt...did get a free poster. Watch all the news channels and they'll have snippets of the hometown event! TV Guide Channel was there, too.....photo by me! lol

We are back from our quick trip to NC. It was HOT HOT HOT there. Big thundershowers in the late evenings each night. We did lot of grandbaby loving. Got to save those kisses and hugs for when we are apart.
Catching up on the newspapers...they are predicting maybe 10,000 here in town on Saturday. Can you imagine that???? Where are they all going to be in front of the movie theatre....4 different showings of the movie, lottery drawings somehow. Springfield is hiring more police for security...It'll be interesting to say the least!
Drive carefully everyone.....Happy Thoughts.
Hi! I don't know where to write and don't want to repeat myself, so I'll write on facebook.
