Brian is OK. He has tons of challenges like us all and I guess the reality is that we are all OK, but without a lot of margin. His oldest son is doing work on documentaries in San Francisco and Brian has three more boys at home. Brian and his wife, Deborah, are full of energy and great to talk with about books, community issues and everything. Brian has a challenging job, in challenging times for his company. It's a small company where everyone is close with each other (that means they drink cheap beer together on Fridays). So there you have it. I too wish that he would offer a few words, but I can assure you that he is maxed out. He cancelled lunch on Friday and I forced my way into his kitchen on Saturday. He was too kind to throw me out.

I agree. Wish he'd put in a few words once in a while.

So how is Brian these days? I'm glad you have contact with him. It was sweet of him to set us up here but sad that he doesn't have the time to come and play.

Hey all, back in Savannah tonight. Tending to the liaison part of the job. Things are busy. Trying to keep up with all the little demands of the clients and giving each the same attention is getting harder but I like it. Have to hire more people but we didn't want to until we could sustain them permanently. When I visit in Vermont sometime we all should get together for a cook fest or something. Or have a dine around a few nights. Would be fun. I love to cook but never complain when someone else offers. Had an awesome Italian creation tonight and finished with an authentic terimisu. Oh......so sleepy now.

Amazing fact of the day. I had dinner with Brian King this weekend and he said that there are more that 1,000,000 active blogs. Wow! Already known fact of the day- "man, can that guy cook!"

That is a really sad story. It seems like we have gone from heros, to anti-heros, to a wide-spread malaise that scatters like a blob of mercury when you try to grab ahold of it. I was reading FDR's 1933 inaugural address a couple of days ago- you know "all we have to fear, is fear itself . . . nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance". Much of what he said really rings true today and particularly in a strange situation like the arsenic poisoning in New Sweden.

FDR went on to say, "We must frankly recognize the overbalance of population in our industrial centers and, by engaging on a national scale in the redistribution, endeavor to provide a better use of the land for those best fitted for the land.

The task can be helped by definite efforts to raise the values of agricultural products and with this the power to purchase the output of our cities.

It can be helped by preventing realistically the tragedy of the growing loss, through foreclosure, of our small homes and our farms.

It can be helped by insistence that the Federal, State and local governments act forthwith on the demand that their cost be drastically reduced."

What a long strange trip it has been and will continue to be, I guess.

During after worship service coffee 2 Sundays ago, 16 people were taken ill after drinking the coffee. One gentleman died. 15 others were treated in hospitals; several are still there though they have been upgraded from critical. (just 2 days ago) Arsenic poisoning impacts the brain function so even though these people may live they will undoubtedly have impaired function. ( Or so Im told) No way to know yet. FBI profilers are coming up here for a couple of days to look into the life and death of a man (member of the church) who killed himself a few days later. The note he left indicates there may be others than himself involved in the poisonings.

Hey guys, we get great news here evidentally. I heard about the arsenic down here, forgot which station. ATL is a very diverse place and quite happenin , sometimes too much so. Finally quiet tonight. Yesterdays storms had lightening strikes exceeding 800 per hour!! Fivwe cells moved through one right after the other. Winds exceeding 70mph at times, ripped a local flag off its pole (one of those mega huge ones) 100 feet in the air. I manages ok down here in my little hollow, just a deluge of water but it kept on going down the hill.

Hi everyone, I haven't been here in a while. Yeah, New Sweden is basically 40 minutes north of here. It's really such a terrible tragedy and locally, we don't know what or exactly who or why. The national news is amazingly "informed" and are talking about things locally you won't see on the news. This is a very quiet and personal town and everyone, memebers of Gustaf Adolfson or not the townspeople are all folks who grew up together and brought their families back to bring up the kids in a beautiful and safe area. I can't count the number of times I heard people tell me this is the best place in the world to raise a family. The young men and women who move into the greater world to get away from small time New England seem to come back in droves when they want to settle down and live their lives with family and friends. The impact of this will affect people for generations to come.

John, Sorry haven't been on the net lately. Been darting golfball hail, tornadoes, and severe lightening storms. Getting used to it I guess. Was on my cell today and the sirens sounded and scared the hell out of the person in CA I was talking with. Reunion-wise, there is always a celebration and parade in Spfld. but not every class has an actual reunion get together. Most classes do one every 5 years. For any groups living close to the area its just a matter of getting together and having at it. If memory serves, Ricky told me that our cass tried to do floats pretty regularly but its tough to get everyone on board with the idea. Like most things, the same people do the work (and the play I hope). I figure whoever wants to should and whoever doesn't shouldn't. A simple philosophy but in the case of something like floats and big gatherings, it is a lot of work. John will echo that I imagine. Those folks who have participated year after year might just be tired of it. Those of us who live away, like me, might look forward to the idea of "going home" for a reunion but we don't end up doing the work to put it all together because we aren't there to do it. It's just the way it is.

That's probably more than you were looking for Roland. But I guess I feeling talkative this morning. My coffee must be kicking in !

Don't know, maybe Patti can fill us in. Had to go to court for a friends divorce hearing and custoday etc today. It took 5 hours and I learned alot about the new laws but we won. The judge was extremely fair, explained all to all. I had to testify to some aspects. I was nervous. His wife is a loopy case and I was a bit afraid of what she would do. We even came out with the car!! The lawyer was awesome, quite scarcastic to all including the judge but made all laugh too. Came home to positive emails from clients and they refered my name to their corporate presidents!! Such little things make me feel good. I work hard at keeping peace and keeping communication flowing and its all worth it when I get comments like today. Its a challenge and also fun. Tiring, but fun. Take care ya'll.

It's true, there is a reunion every year. In fact, it is the biggest holiday- universally observed and embraced- in Spfld. Giving candy to the kids along the parade route last year was a personal high. Having three babelicious women sing karaoke with me was icing on the cake.

Yes, I've experienced plenty earthquakes here in L.A., though we weren't here for that really big one. We were living in Israel at the time. It's really scary when you can't even trust the earth you're standing on. The first time I felt a quake, I thought it was a bomb. I guess that's after all the years of living in Israel. We nail our bookcases to the wall now, so they won't fall over in a quake.

So are you all going to the reunion again?

Morning anyone. We had a small quake early. It woke me up and I though some joker had hit the side of my house or something. I though it was funny the dogs didn't bark as they let me know of anhting that moves. Got up, made usual java, turned on news and it stated we had a 4.5 quake centered on the GA AL line. Hm......... like you guys we don't usually get them. I did experience one when I was living out on the point in Shelburne, thought the furnace was blowing up or something. Guess you might have recogonized its symptoms Lori but here we don't. Oh, the news just said it was a 4.9. Hmmmmmmmmm.

I'm back. Well I caught up on some of the reading and June is around the corner Jerry. Hey Hey what do you say com'on Cosmos go all the way. Holy Christ where was that comming from. I must have been thinking about the good old football days. Sounds like we need another reunion so Roland can join us. I think we need three votes for this to happen well lets see maybe we can make it a small one. Like a warm up for our 35th. I didn't see three votes. We will have to wait for the 35th......

Hey all, hope everyone had a Happy Easter and Passover too. I spent it in Deland Fl and the temps wer already pushing 90. Then I went to Tallahhassee and home again. Tonight I'm in Memphsis and had dinner at my favourite place, P F Changs. Its a great enviroment and I usually get the entire bar talking about my products so it becomes one big party. Mostly yuppie crowd but interesting backgrounds and conversations. Theres some great jazz joints too and lots of awsome tunes on the waves too. Finally got our freight company changed from Emery to Excel and merchandise flows cheaper, faster, and the people are more friendly. That Canadian office of Emery sure screwed up lots, simple stuff. The clouds parted for a brief period tonight and I got to see the sun set. They say we've got Tornado watches until 6am. Getting used to that around here. ciao for now.

Let's see, June is just two months away............do we have another reunion coming up? Oh, yeah, that was just ten months ago, wasn't it? I saw Gayle at a St. Anselm College hockey game in a very cold ice arena in Hooksett, NH in mid-February. Her freshman son Jesse was a starter for that game and unfortunately suffered a knee injury in a collision with a Norwich U player about in the middle of the game. He was on crutches and in pain afterwards. I need to check on his progress sometime. I'll check in again. I was checking my sign-in ID for joining another Yahoo group. Bye for now.

Hello all.........Happy Easter and Passover to everyone!! It is finally nicer here, we have daffodils growing and almost in bloom! I heard that the former POWs are coming home, I hope they can be here for the holiday and be able to spend it with their families, as well as some of the other troops...........my girlfriend said her husband may be home soon, but there are still a great many over in Iraq and the surrounding areas that won't be spending the holidays with their families...................my thoughts and prayers go to them and you all.........................have a great time with your loved ones.

Things are chilly here this morning but we're all excited because we're expecting a high of 44!! The tulips planted along the back side of my grage are coming up nicely. There's enough heat from the house's foundation to bring them along. It's a sure sign of hope for us.

What trip? You must mean Karen's trip. I haven't gone anywhere. We were at a nice Passover dinner, though, last night at Avi's sister's house. There were about 24 of us. I was glad she wanted to have the holiday at her house. She's one of these people who has no problem cooking for big groups. I was starting to have a nervous breakdown until it became clear she was doing the dinner!

Glad to finally see ya'll are thawing out. Mom said it was near 80 yesterday in CT. She was out planting and finding spring bulbs etc. I however had to find out what great medical plan I have. Woke up with the side of my face swollen. It wound't have bothered me so much but it was growing and getting closer to my eyes. I went to the net and found a doctor I could use as mine had retired. He was great. he is an osteopath but combines modern medicine when needed. Which in my case I needed some antibiotics. I am much better today and have learned much about osteopathy. Setting off for Fl tomorrow and hope to spend Easter on the beach with my friends. Course this medication says to stay out of the direct sun or use strong protectant. With all this talk about bio war fare and new diseases I just wanted to be safe. I am not one to go to the doctor unless its critical. On the up side he said that I have the general health of an 18yr old. Hope ya'll have a great Easter and I know you will Pat with your boys home now. Hope your trip went great Lori.

I got out of my car in the driveway this afternoon and I could clearly hear the stereo playing in the livingroom. Yup, the boys are back!

Yes, it must be nice to be together again. It's hard to let them go. Two of mine are out of the house, but they're not far away and they come by a lot, so it's not so bad.

Spring is finally starting around here. Dave went out on his mountain bike a few minutes ago despite the 32 degree temps. Later it will be in the 40's so we'll continue to melt gradually. A quick melt would cause flooding in too many places so we need to be patient. But I can finally see most/some of my gardens and that's a great sign of winter's end.

Okay, so we can't compete with Florida! I'm sure the sea is also much warmer there. Here it's like ice.

Lori, you do have mucho sun there but most of CA isn't as warm as FL most of the winter. As I recall when I lived in Marina del Rey it stayed about 65 on a good winter day. I do need to get out there and get to our plant in Rancho Cucamonga some one of these days.

IOk, haven't been able to post and couldn't figure it out so I emailed Blogger and looks like this might work. Oh joy, I get to spend about amonth in Jackson, Ms doing a logistics thing with new products and hiring etc...... Think I'll leave via Bilouxi and do some RnR too. Fl should be nice about now Karen. I hope to spend Easter with my VT friends in Deland and also tend to my aunt grave. (an annual thing). Hope to get posts from others soon.
